Frank Schleck was the first rider to cross the finish-line of the Luxembourgish National Championships. Second in the race was Andy (with the same time as Frankie), third was Laurent Didier.
Hopefully LT will now adopt a new Luxembourgian champion jersey, with the national flag more visible on the back. If not, well, I'll have to learn how to tell Frank from Andy by looking at hisglasses. Luckily, it isn't that difficult.
As far as other countries are concerned, the new/old Italian champion is Visconti, the German one is Wagner (yay!), the English one is Wiggins, the Spanish one is Samu Sanchez. And here ends my knowledge.
As you might have guessed from the lack of new posts in this blog, miss Fede is having a tough time with school. The third two parts of the final exam actually went pretty well (or, at least, that's what I think), but tomorrow I have the third proof and, also thanks to factors not depending on my will, I haven't finished to study yet.
Anyway, thanks God in seven days time everything will already be over. My oral examination in fact will be on Saturday, so I'll soon be a free citizen again :D Have a good night, everyone!

Just kidding, of course: Nicki is a great rider and a superb national champion. And then Chris was an excellent 5th, so I think we'll see him very often too in the next few weeks! :D
I don't know how, but I managed to survive today's part of the exam.
I actually had an epiphany while I was on the bus: all of a sudden, I realised I had made a mess out of the first Maths exercise. But the rest of the test went pretty well (at least, that's what I hope). I'll get the partial result of the exam in the next 2 days, can't wait to know it!
@ Anne: Thank you very much for the good luck wish, dear! Just one hour of torture and then I'll be a free citizen again! I've already decided what I'll do on Saturday, can't wait for that day to come and for school to end!! :D

It was a fun day at the Dutch Championship and not that far from where my parents live :-) Our dad came with us, which was nice too. Photos are - of course - online at the Ride On! blog. Dear ladies, miss Fede is proud to tell you that, although she still has to face the last part of her exam, after the three written proves she's already collected 70 points. Considering that the lowest sufficient mark is 60, well, I'm officially out of that damned school.
RispondiEliminaRight no, I'm seriously thinking about turning up at the oral examination dressed up as if I was going to the beach, ask the teachers 'Dudes, how you doing?' and then walking out of the room with nonchalance. Even if I did something like that, I would get a 70 anyway - and this makes me incredibly happy.
Another idea instead would be to 'remake' the famous Blues Brothers scene, the one in which Jack says 'I've seen the light!!' and Elwood doesn't understand what he's talking about (a few seconds later, he screams 'He's seen the light!' and starts dancing in the church). Of course, I'd need someone to help me if I decided to do that. Volunteers, anyone? ;)
@ A: Those vids look absolutely great, I've read the title of the one featuring Andy cooking pasta with tomatoes, I can't wait to see them all! I'll watch them after the final part of the exam, when I'm finally relaxed and free - as free as the clamidosaurus of 'The Rescuers Down Under' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rescuers_Down_Under), if you know what I mean :P
Talking about rescuers... What are we waiting for? Let's book our flights to Luxembourg, ladies! We could spent August there, and then go to Curaçao in November ;) It would be great, wouldn't it?

In the first proof I went for the 'Love, Hatred and Passion' thing, I wrote some stupid things about the fact that love has a dark side (passion) that can lead to very negative things (hatred, social scandals, suicides) if it isn't controlled by reason and if it is associated with a relationship based on eros rather than on philia (I just hope I spelled that word correctly).
I made some references to Christ (I looked up the word 'Passion' in the dictionary, saw the name 'Christ' and wrote it down in the essay, it was a very irrational behaviour! :P), to Dido and to some other guys, but I couldn't fit Romeo and Juliet anywhere. Oh, anger.
As far as the second proof is concerned, I chose the text by Virginia Woolf. It wasn't that difficult, but I'm afraid my composition wasn't long enough (280 words rather than 300
-.-").
The third proof was the trickiest one, but I survived it - and, right now, that's the only thing that counts. In the end, I got 41 points out of 45 as far as the written proves are concerned :D
Ah, the one about clothes is a very tricky question!! Especially because my mum spent the last 30 minutes cursing me because I keep on changing my clothes :P In fact in these days I change my clothes every time I must go to school, so she's having a really tough time with the ironing :P
Btw, I haven't decided yet what I'll wear. Perhaps jeans and a blue shirt, but I'm not sure yet. Luckily, I still have some days to think about that problem (my 'orale' in fact is Saturday at 8 am - ANSIA!!!).
If it's a T-shirt, why not one with a naked girl? Let's see if any examiner can get the reference :P Or, given that it's Saturday, a yellow one!

Ladies, a new era is beginning! I'm done with high school, Chris Anker Sorensen is becoming dad, Andy Schleck has a girlfriend, Petacchi wants to race the Worlds for Kazakhistan and Jakob Fuglsang's hair abandoned their glorious owner!! Isn't it shocking?

I'm going to talk a bit about cycling in my tesina (don't ask me how, but I've even managed to include Jens Voigt in the introduction :P), so I really do hope to get a final question about the Tour.
'Who will win the race?', someone will ask. 'Andy Schleck!', I'll proudly answer. Yes, that would definitely be the perfect way to end high school :D
Those Maturità rules change every year, this year for example we had to choose the language of the second proof BEFORE reading the texts, and not afterwards (as people could do until last year). Moreover, the language teachers were 'esterni', whereas the Italian one was amongst the 'interni'.
This morning I witnessed my best friend's exam (she was the first one to be tested, poor thing!), so I've got myself an idea of how my proves went. I think I got a 14 in Italian, a 15 in English (I don't want to sound arrogant, but my bf got a 14 although she made some silly mistakes - and I've always been slightly better than her at English, so I'm very confident about that proof) and a 12 in the third proof. In fact, I realised while coming home from the last written part of the exam that I had made a very big mistake in Maths. Moreover, I think the Spanish part of the test had some mistakes in it too, so I think I got a 12. But hey, I'm surely not complaining about it!!
@ Susanne: Turning up at the exam dressed up as a ghost would be terribly fun!!! I wonder how my teachers'd react.
I saw how some of my friends turned up at their exam this morning and this left me a bit confused. One (who usually doesn't wear very smart clothes) was wearing high heels and looking absolutely nice; on the other hand, my other classmate (who usually dresses very well) was very sporty -actually, I had never seen her with such sporty clothes. Moreover, she probably wore the worst shoes she had in her closet (I couldn't even understand which colour they were) and this really shocked me.
Therefore right now the question is: going to exam with high heels, risking to break my leg while climbing up the stairs and walking like a T-Rex, or turning up with flat shoes? That is the question! High heels would make me look thinner, but I don't want to look too elegant. Well, I still have 2 days to solve this dilemma ;)
Surprisingly, my heart didn't get shattered by the news du jour.
After reading Anonimo's first comment, I just thought 'THIS IS SUCH A GREAT NEWS, IT WAS HIGH TIME!!!' and then, after watching the pictures, I started smiling as a fool while I felt happy for Andy. Really, there was no time for heartbreaks - and this was shocking!!

I had to read your comment twice but, if I must be sincere, my heart didn't get shattered or anything when I saw it: I just thought it was a very nice news, that it was high time for our man to get himrself a gf and that his girl looks really beautiful and nice. And, most important, together with OGL she seems to form a very happy and beautiful couple. I wish them all of the best!!!
